The Importance of Self-Care

Have you ever heard of the phrase, “don’t recreate the wheel”? That’s exactly what I am going to attempt NOT to do in this post. Instead, I am going to direct you to the creator of The Self-Caregiver Community, Jeanette Yates. She is a wife, mom, and lifelong caregiver…amongst many other things. Jeanette has a testimony of discovering God’s will for her self-care as a caregiver and she now graciously shares her self-care journey with fellow caregivers. She has a podcast (From Guilt to Good) where she discusses topics like limiting beliefs, how they affect our caregiving, and how to overcome them, and how to tame those pesky racing thoughts that keep us up at night. She has a wealth of knowledge on self-care and offers practical helps, such as breathing exercises and downloadable workbooks to help you figure out where you fall on the self-care spectrum. She also has a heart to help you get to where you wish you were and need to be so you can be the best caregiver possible for your loved one. Jeanette even offers one-on-one self-care coaching. I had the privilege of securing a quick self-care assessment with her where she helped me set goals and make a realistic plan to achieve them.

So, with all that said, The Self-Caregiver Community is now on our resource page and I encourage you to use the link above to connect with Jeanette and get started on your discovery to better self-care for YOU, as well as your loved ones - all of them…not just the one you are caregiver for.
